R J Dent is an Associate Tutor and graduate student in the American Studies Department at the University of Sussex, specializing in 19th century American literature. His thesis is on Emily Dickinson.
He is also a poet, novelist, translator, blogger, essayist, short story writer, researcher and Creative Writing tutor.
He has an MA in Modern English Literature, and a BA honours degree in English and Philosophy
His latest book is an English translation of the Poems & Fragments of Alcaeus, published by Circaidy Gregory Press. He has also published a novel, Myth, a gothic novella, Deliverance, and a poetry collection, Moonstone Silhouettes. He has also translated into English and published Lautréamont's surrealist classic, Les Chants de Maldoror (The Songs of Maldoror), and Charles Baudelaire's decadent classic, Les Fleurs du Mal (The Flowers of Evil), both published in 2011 by the University of Chicago Press/Solar Books.
